A Short History of Drunkenness by Mark Forsyth

5.0

A relative recommended this book and after listened to it i realized this is the same author who wrote The Elements of Eloquence (which i thoroughly enjoyed).
The audiobook was narrated by the Richard Hughes. Everything is funnier with an English accent it appears. :)
I really appreciate books like this that afford a chance to learn some history while enjoying a good laugh. Although this leans more towards humor than historical faces I still learned some new things, particularly in the details surrounding prohibition.
I think this would make an ideal book-club selection because everyone would enjoy it yet there are lots of unique topics for discussion. Plus we would be encouraged to drink a lot during the meeting.
