emotional mysterious tense medium-paced

3.5

I feel like Rika had way more chemistry with Kai than with Michael.
Honestly, I was much more intrigued by Damon's backstory, and even Kai's had that mysterious edge that kept me hooked.

Michael and Rika's struggles were understandable, but the other guys definitely had more compelling traumas to explore. Will, on the other hand, felt so irrelevant—like, why was he even there?

I wish they could have at least made it a triad. Why does Michael have to be all "she's mine" when they're supposed to be rebels?

And Rika just forgives them? They don't even try to make amends—it's frustrating.

Well, I guess I'll probably read the next ones just because Damon and Kai are so interesting.
