This book took me a LONG time to finish. I remember myself being realy excited to read it as it is a book vehemently revered by sme friends and readers alike. However, I caught myself feeling like reading this book was a chore more than a pleasure or something I wanted to do. The first and final few chapters were really attention-grabbing, though.
I thought that the middle of the book was paced really slowly and oddly as well as contained a lot of information that just felt like padding. The beginning and end of the narrative, on the other hand, was paced really well and didn't feel convoluted.
I think this style and sort of writing is an acquired taste, especially to the new generation of readers. I am known to love high society aesthetics and media, but the middle portion of this book felt like I was forcing myself to trudge through sludge.
I did still find myself enjoying the storyline, though. I'm a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers narrative and this is the classic!
