The only reason I’m deducting star points from this is because in the audiobook, the whole switching between past and present wasn’t totally clear, so it was confusing at times.

I put off reading this book for so long for two reasons: fear— what if I didn’t like it? Would it ruin my favourite dystopian series? But also out of annoyance— why can’t some authors just leave their series how it ends and let it be?

I picked it up the other day, and thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed. I loved hearing more from Zu, and really enjoyed her story. I can’t wait to read more again.
