This Moose Belongs to Me by Oliver Jeffers
4.0
Wilfred finds a moose and decides to keep him and name him Marcel. He comes up with a whole bunch of rules Marcel has to follow, some of which he does (like staying quiet when Wilfred wants to listen to music) and some he isn't so good at (like doing whatever Wilfred wants to do). When he discovers that someone else thinks the moose belongs to her, Wilfred is heartbroken and runs off, getting himself into a knot in the process. Will Marcel save the day?
A fun read-aloud for kindergarten through 2nd grade, with the wonderfully whimsical illustrations of Oliver Jeffers. Also includes a great message about being one's own person (or moose), regardless of pressure to bend to someone else's will.
