Everybody needs a Shep in their lives. I was very emotionally invested almost right from the start, but I do feel like the book had a stronger beginning than end. Not to say that I did not like the ending, I love how it all turned out and how Eve, Shep, and Ethan managed to make their unusual arrangement work. I found Ethan's reactions very realistic, as well as Willa's sad/happy responses to Eve's pregnancy.
