I consumed this book in the span of two weeks and I was not disappointed. I watched the Untamed, and while the order of events has changed from book to movie, it was nice to come into this book with some knowledge on the universe and who’s who. The writing style was certainly an adjustment, but after two chapters, I easily got into a groove and have found reading more of MXTX’s works to be easier to understand now.
Listen, if you thought the show was gay, this is GAYER. WAY MORE G A Y. WWX and LWJ are so much fucking gayer here, and we LOVE TO SEE IT!! There were so many quotes and scenes I loved, and my review would be several pages long so I will leave you with my most frequently used annotation note for this entire book:
“something LGBT just happened to Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji.”
