although this is advertised as an adventure book, the story mostly focuses on the characters inner thoughts rather than its tumultuous plot points. this isn’t to say the book isn’t adventurous, but I can understand that it may not have risen to all readers’ expectations. personally i enjoyed the insight into the main character’s mind as a woman with power in a time when women didn’t have much power.
