Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig

5.0

Two Twisted Crowns gave me everything I wanted! The writing here was gorgeous and I loved how Rachel Gillig decided to wrap up the story. I had a lot of questions about the world-building still and they were all answered in detail throughout the book--some even in extremely well executed plot twists!

The multiple perspectives also made this such an engrossing read. Every single POV character had a distinct voice and had something interesting going on with their arc. There was quite a bit of character development as well in regard to pretty much all characters and it was fun to see how they all changed from beginning to end.

The romance wasn't really my most favorite thing, but it was well balanced with everything else that was happening. The focus was kept to plot progression and resolution and nothing of importance was overshadowed by the relationship elements. The situation with the Nightmare actually made some of those scenes pretty interesting and entertaining as well!

And speaking of Nightmare, I really really loved how Gillig decided to wrap up his journey and everything related to the cards. It was one of the points I was most curious about and it was so well done in providing a satisfying solution to all of those issues while still not shying away from the devastation they caused--and giving those who deserved it a happy ending! Overall, this was an amazing duology :D
