Melinda Sordino went to a party that changed her entire life. No friends and no support because it traumatised her emotionally and physically. She couldn't speak up even to her parents. What i liked: The writing, wording and everything. So good. I feel like i was able to connect to Melinda throughout the book. This book tells the REAL meaning behind high school which, obviously, includes lots of 'im-giving-up' and 'i-hate-life' phase. I usually hate those depressing characters in a book. But, 'Speak' able to give me a whole different perspective and I actually emphatise with Melinda. Melinda reminds me of Charlie (from perks of being a wallflower), but her life is more lonely, No support from friends, parents and teachers (well, not all) which happens in real life everyday.

What i did not like: The ending..sigh..cliffhangers

Recommended for: High school students, journal lover, people who hate descriptive books. EVERYONE.
