It does not matter how “historical” or “classical” a book is: the use of the n-word repeatedly was so vile that I couldn’t focus on the actual storyline. And when I say “repeatedly”, I mean often more than once in a single sentence and then continuing on for paragraphs. When will we stop romanticizing the work of old dead white men, especially when they contributed to the personal hell of so many?
