The Other Us by Fiona Harper
3.0
I borrowed this from my local library in e-book format. Maggie a middle aged 40-something woman who is unhappy/bored with her life and husband and is having doubts about her decision back in her twenties when she turned down her ex partner Jude to marry her husband Dan.
She time travels back to the 90's to that fateful life changing day where she tries to make the right decision for her own happiness. From then she jumps between two alternate lives one with Dan and the other with Jude and we see how both lives are playing out and the consequences of her choices.
It was an interesting concept and I did enjoy the read. Being set in and around London and in the nineties which was when I grew up meant that the locations were familiar and relatable to myself. It is thought provoking, and made me think about "what if" moments of my life and second chances. However I felt that it wasn't explained how or why she was time travelling and how it stopped. There wasn't anything in this book that gave it a wow factor and I didn't like the the ending, felt a bit dull and flat.
