A Kids Book About Body Hair by Georgina Gooley

informative lighthearted medium-paced

5.0

A Kids Book About consistently puts out the best books on the market about tough and abstract topics, and this one is no exception. The use of basic typography and colors to convey mood and meaning work better than pictures ever could, and this title makes particularly good use of graphic design with all of the squiggly, brightly-colored "hairs." While most body hair books target kids entering or in puberty, this one empowers adults to address the topic long before kids start growing hair in surprising places. It recognizes that there are societal norms surrounding body hair, but focuses on empowering kids to embrace their body hair in whatever way is comfortable for them.
