Read this in junior year of high school and I’m writing a review for it now because it brought me back into reading. Walls highlights the flaws and struggles of her family and everyday life, but I finished this book feeling optimistic and appreciative. The way she characterized each “bad” person to make us understand their background and intentions has completely changed the way I view and judge people to this day.
