“Bright Young Women” is a powerful feminist retelling of Ted Bundy’s attacks and trial. The POV switches between Ruth, a Seattle victim, and Pamela, a key eyewitness in Florida. This was a really unique thriller as it was part historical fiction, and I really enjoyed the crossover. I appreciated how the author debunks the mythologization of Bundy by centering the women and referring to him only as “The Defendant”. This was a really dynamic novel, and it was empowering to see the serial killer novel reframed in a feminist way. I highly recommend it to all true crime junkies!
