THIS BOOK!!! Can a review just be me screaming? Because my brain is refusing to settle down and no coherent thoughts are happening besides "I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!" 🗯❗❕🦸♂️
I've seen The Extraordinaries on booksta so often I figured I should give it a read so I could maybe understand the excitement about the third book in the series being released in July. I cannot believe how young and naïve I was back then, thinking this was just another "pretty decent" book. Now here I am, about a week later, older and wiser, and completely obsessed with Nick and Seth and Gibby and Jazz and everything happening in Nova City.
As someone who's very into superhero fandom (Stucky 4evah!), who basically lives for AO3 (the greatest site on the world wide web), and who also has ADD, this book had me hooked from chapter one just for the relatability and the hilarious accuracy of fanfic and of Nick's brain.
I found myself laughing out loud really often, and also yelling at Nick for being so goddamn oblivious. I just wanted to (gently) smack him upside the head a few times in relation to Seth 😆 I was a whole screaming mess once he figured out first Seth's crush, and then the superhero thing. I may have yelled at my friend Susan once or twice while reading because I couldn't contain all my glee and frustration and excitement and yelling into the void wasn't working, I needed someone to yell back 🤣
But okay so, The Extraordinaries? I absolutely loved it and this book is an instant favourite!
