Took me a little longer to get into this book than I expected, and at times I had to really concentrate because of the writing style. The author/narrator is playing games, teasing us with bits of information, hinting at things to come, giving us reasons why things can't be true - because they are not the rules of crime fiction!
I'd expected it to be a bit more like Richard Osman's work, and there's not a general humour about the story, more the writing is witty and clever.
I know there is another in the series about to be published and I will read it with interest, but I suspect it's a short-lived gimmick and not one the author can continue for too long
