There was something very bittersweet about this story. I definitely can tell that it’s based on darker fairy tales, and for awhile I was worried it wouldn’t end happily, but it ended happily enough. 

I’m not sure I was rooting for this romance as much as I was supposed to. The two of them are very sweet together, but Manus just never really did it for me. I would have preferred her end up with Declan if I’m being honest. 

Anyways. It was still a good time.
