The Art of Catching Feelings? more like The Art of Deception because deception is literally the theme of this book.

it’s actually so insane to me how daphne let her lies went on for that long. she was never going to fess up to chris unless someone forced her hands. she was too much of a coward for that.

there was absolutely no reason for her to deceive him until 79% into the book. layla forbidding her from telling him at 69% was just an excuse for her to not be an adult about things. there was also literally no reason for her to deliberately pursue him after she stopped catfishing him. she knew what she was doing in that bar. she just didn’t care.

she had countless of chances to be honest. again. she didn’t give a fuck. even in the end, the only reason chris found out about her lies was not out of her own volition.  she only owned up to it once she was caught redhanded and had no choice but to be honest. i seriously believe that her cowardly ass would have made up lies after lies to keep up her secrets if that didn’t happen.

the book made a big deal about her divorce and all which is fine but what did it do for daphne? because she certainly didn’t grow up AT ALL throughout the book. and watching the author try to excuse her actions in between 80%-90% was absolutely painful.

i swear if chris were an asshole, maybe i’d be fine with her being a horrendous person to him but he was genuinely a nice guy who she made a huge fool out of. the fact he forgave her so easily was insane.

the only person with real sense was layla.

“I don’t even know. I don’t know what would possess you to stay anonymous in the first place, and then I really don’t know what would possess you to start a real-life relationship with the same person you catfished. That’s some Theranos-level shit.”

she read her for filth!!
