This was the second time I've read this and it was even better than I remembered. This is the first book in a trilogy. It can stand alone, but sets up the rest of the story in an interesting way. Even though it is not a difficult book, it's best not speed read it as a lot of subtlety of plot and character may be missed. As always, Atwood makes the most of each sentence.
