The most exciting book in the grishaverse in my opinion. At first I was hesitant because I didn’t know how a storyline between Nikolai, Zoya and Nina would work but it did. Zoya and Nikolai’s plot was exciting and Zina’s gave a nice nod to the ending of Crooked Kingdom. I liked the growth they gave Zoya and how cohesive her and Nikolai work together. Honestly, I was bound to love this book because the three of them were my favorite characters to begin with!

I did have a problem that the book is called King of Scars and it felt like it wasn’t fully centered around him like I felt it should have been. It was still a really good book with twists and turns I wasn’t expecting but that still worked.
