Broody, grumpy Chase, and sunshine Twyla, what a match!
The story kicks off when Twyla needs a break from life to move on from her past, so she decides to move across the country to California (where her brother lives as a football player), for a couple of months just to take a breather. Imagine the surprise she is in for when she realizes the place she is going to be staying is right across the hall from anti-social grump Chase Andrews, who she has had a crush on for years! Chase is not expecting to see Twyla and he does have mixed feelings at first, but eventually, he realizes that she could be the missing sunshine that he has been missing in his life.
LOVEDDD, their story. Watching Chase soften around Twyla was seriously the best thinggg. I loved their story and how patient they were with each other. Seeing how much Chase wanted to make sure Twyla was okay and happy was everything. This man would go out of his comfort zone, just to make sure that Twyla was doing alright.
While both characters had a crush on each other for years, it was never expressed or explored because Chase plays football with Twyla's super-protective older brother Miles. Eventually, they choose to do what they want and I am so glad they did! Their connection and chemistry were off the charts, and Chase had me swooning!
