Pageboy by Elliot Page

challenging dark emotional informative reflective tense medium-paced

4.5

This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023, as I was obsessed with Juno growing up. This was a lot sadder than I anticipated but I really enjoyed the actual writing and Page's story is an important one.

I learned a lot about Page in this book! I overall did not know very much about his life and it was super interesting to hear about the different things Page went through. I had no clue about his strained relationship with his dad and step-mom, I thought it was super interesting to learn about the climate change "camp" he went to, and I also didn't know he struggled with disordered eating.

This book is out of order and pops around different stages of Page's life which I liked but I can understand why others might not like the way it's laid out.

I was hoping for more information on Page's marriage to Emma Portner but I understand why Page might not be ready to share that.

This one was a lot darker than I anticipated so make sure to read the content/trigger warnings prior to reading.
