Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman
3.0
It was an engaging tale about two sisters growing up with their two witchy aunts and how they go through bullying and loneliness throughout childhood. As they grow up they go their separate ways, they both try to escape the aunts but the eccentricities of life catch up with them. The character development of both sisters is very distinct. I particularly liked Sally's character a lot.
As a story it was engaging as the readers are invested in the storylines of the sister. There are very elements of magical realism but in all it's not really a fantasy or magically driven. It's a character driven story definitely.
