Things I Wish I Told My Mother by Susan DiLallo, Susan Patterson, James Patterson

emotional funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted reflective relaxing fast-paced

I don’t know where I heard about this book, but it popped up on my Libby audiobook list just as I was listening to Nine Black Robes and getting glazed over eyes while driving listening to information about the Supreme Court. I wanted to stay alert for the car ride  and needed lighter fare. So I changed gears and listened to this wonderful book about a mother daughter trip to France and Norway. It is a delightful book. The mother is a famous doctor perfectionist who travels with multiple suitcases and the perfect outfit for every event, all of which are perfectly planned. Her daughter is artistic and in advertising- she travels with a duffel bag and looks for unplanned adventures. They are the Felix and Oscar of mother daughter pairs. The dialogue was snappy and humorous, the characters were lovable the locations so well drawn the reader felt like she was there and the plot kept moving so much that I didn’t want to stop until it ended. It seemed like a light frothy book but I can’t stop thinking about it. A must read for all mothers and daughters.
