Colin Fischer by Ashley Edward Miller

I immediately fell in love with Colin, the main character of this very smart and relevant novel about a high school freshman with Asperger's. Despite his autistic traits which could be described as robotic, he developed into quite a lovable character that I found to be more "human" than most non-autistic characters. This YA novel definitely has an adult edge. Colin's journal entries and the author's periodic footnotes actually taught me a thing or two. Although this novel could be slotted under the mystery genre, it is clearly more about the ironies of life. Overall, a smart, modern, and delightful read!
