The repetitiveness of Tolstoy's philosophical views really ruined the story for me. He just had to keep making the same and not very profound point over and over and over again. If you read this, skip the second epilogue for sure. 

Otherwise, I really enjoyed the story. The characters were at least compelling if not lovable.
