Thriller books are my first love and Riley Sager does not disappoint honey!!
In “Lock Every Door”, we meet Jules Larsen. Jules life has been filled with bad luck and horrible tragedies. Jules best friend and her sister Jane, went missing when she was 17 and her parents died two years later leaving her alone. Fresh off a relationship with her cheating boyfriend, sleeping on her best friend Chloe’s couch and in between jobs, Jules learns about a job that may be too good to be true.
Manhattan’s most famous and glamorous apartment building, The Bartholomew, is looking for “apartment sitters”. These apartment sitters would need to stay at least 3 months and would be paid $12,000. Jules is thinking she needs a place to stay and money so why not?! Jules meets Leslie Evelyn who gives her some weird rules that she must abide by while staying at The Bartholomew, but she accepts the job anyway out of desperation.
Jules meets Ingrid, another apartment sitter, and they form a friendship. The next day, Ingrid goes missing. With the thought of her missing sister weighing on her, she starts investigating Ingrid’s disappearance. Jules learns that Ingrid isn’t the first apartment sitter that has gone missing and that The Bartholomew may not be what it seems. This book gave off vibes from a specific movie (not saying which movie because I don’t want to give it away) but just a little bit.
This was my first Riley Sager book and I need more!! Great read and I definitely recommended!
