Oprah's book does not contain surprising new ideas, especially if you have read several other books on spirituality or self-development. Nevertheless I did enjoy this as an end-of-the-year comforting book, as I listened (audiobook) to the life story of a woman who has done a lot, seen a lot and learned plenty of valuable life lessons. Although many of them may sound cliché, the weaving of her own experiences with the insights gained made for interesting stories.


I would not necessarily recommend to go out and buy this book. If you have access to the audiobook on storytel, go ahead and have a listen - it will feel like you are absorbing a wise aunt's views on the beauty of life
