A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
5.0
Oh. My. Goodness. I LOVED this book so so so much.
To preface this, I want to say that I have been in something of a reading slump for the past few months and had not read a 5-star book since January. This book was so amazing and I'm so glad I read it.
I love the concept of parallel universes. I love the idea of being able to go into these parallel worlds and see the differences. So, of course I picked this book (with its absolutely gorgeous cover) up as soon as it was published. I didn't read it until about eight months later, but still.
The story itself was so interesting, with twists I did not see coming at all, but what I really liked was the worlds. Particularly the one where Marguerite was a Russian princess. I was so happy that that part took up so much of the book, as I really liked it. I'm kind of sad that we probably won't see Vladimir or Piotr again. I liked the world where they lived underwater, too! That was just really cool.
I liked that Claudia Gray didn't hold back from making the worlds so different from each other, giving each Marguerite a strikingly different life.
I'm excited to see where the story goes in the next book. I hope there doesn't get to be a love triangle between Marguerite, Peter, and Theo, but we'll just have to see. :)
