I held off reading this small short story, even though it was pretty long 80s pages (but not long enough!) because I did not want to see this series go. I'm terrible at reading the last novels of series I adore (example Noughts and Crosses, and Crooked Kingdom) because saying goodbye is bittersweet.

However, this series went out a good note with Zuzana and Mik two of my favorite side characters from the series.

What I Liked:

The characters. Zuzana was my favorite character in the series and it was so much fun to read from her POV. Plus, the switch to Mik's POV was great as well. I would love to read a book in either of their POVS! :)

The plot. I'm a bit of a reading slump and this short story was just what I needed at the moment. It was a cute/funny story about Mik and Zuzana's beginning relationship! :)

I recommend checking this short story out if you enjoyed the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series! :) It hit the spot before Laini Taylor's new novel comes out this year.
