The Secret History by Donna Tartt
4.5
Look who finally got around to reading The Secret History! This was so unlike what I was expecting. The style of narration was a lot more modern than I thought it would be. I also thought we would witness a lot more lectures by Julian and sort of see the effect they specifically had on the students, as well as Richard, but we didn't. Instead we get to see how the students act and think and have to figure out for ourselves the connection to their study of classical Greek. The novel is definitely well-written and engaging, and it offer a lot of food for thought. I think if I ever reread it, I might round up the rating, but for now it stays at 4,5. I spent a little too long reading it, I think. Or at least I had a too long break in between the second-to-last and the last chapters, but hey, the last chapter was like 150 pages lol.
