I haven’t felt this gut-punched by a book in so long and I know it’s because I relate to Harriet on a cellular level. It is mind boggling to me that someone I do not know could actually have written someone who I feel describes me in ways I’ve never even been able to articulate myself.

I could go on and on about how GOOD this book is but I think I’d ramble forever. The lake house setting! The found family! The pining! The feelings of nostalgia! The millennial struggle of working so hard for a career and not feeling fulfilled! The tension between Harriet and Wynn! I loved every single second and I’m so sad it’s over.

This is, in my opinion, Emily Henry’s best work yet. I never thought she could replace BEACH READ but alas, here we are. HAPPY PLACE is so so special and I’m am thankful to have received an advanced copy from Libro.fm & Penguin Random House audio. Would def recommend pre-ordering the audio because it is narrated by Julia Whelan and it is perfection!
