I was hesitant, at first, as to how I'd tackle an epistolary novel. I'm a huge Brust fan, but I've never really read anything by Emma Bull. Let me just say that this book shattered my expectations. It is a true mastery of character, style, and plotting. Definitely goes on the list of my all-time favorite novels. A wonderful and emotionally-riveting read.
