While my review rants normally go on about the love interest, I need a moment to talk about Elizabeth MF Scrivener. This woman has my entire heart, soul, mind, spirit, every possible thing in existence belongs to this queen. She was such a powerful girl boss and lowkey was giving Jude Duarte (The Cruel Prince) vibes. I bought this book along with An Enchantment of Ravens, and read this one first because I thought I wouldn't find it as enjoyable but BOY WAS I WRONG. This was a literary masterpiece. Although the world-building was a bit confusing to get through at the beginning, what fantasy world-building isn't? I was hooked the entire time, and I genuinely had such a hard time putting it down. And that was majorly in part for my complete love and adoration for my newest book bf Nathanial Thorn. This man is the definition of perfection. He hates everyone except Elizabeth (and his best friend Silas who is my literal favorite person ever and deserves the world + more), and his stubborn self is just PERFECT (not to mention this man is hot asf
Spoilerand when I found out this man was bi, I almost googled how to marry a piece of paper
). This trio was absolutely everything and I would give anything to read this book again for the first time.
