Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

5.0

I’ve got to be honest, I thought this book was going to be terrible. The description sounded bad and for so long I didn’t understand why people picked up this book, let alone loved it. I was very wrong.

Little Fires Everywhere follows multiple families and thus, multiple storylines. Often times when books follow this many characters it can get confusing and boring, fortunately this wasn’t. All of the characters were beautifully flushed out, the writing allowed me to feel as though I knew them. The writing made me feel calm and comforted. This novel was expertly written and I am excited to read more of the authors work. The only downside was that I was not hooked to the book, I didn’t want to stay up all night reading it but I was thinking about it all night. Overall, this novel was much better than expected and I recommend it to everyone (the show is also great).
