May 2023 SFF Book Club - this was a great update to the original story and using the Mayan war as a backdrop was a good choice. I was surprised at least twice and thought the pacing was best from part two through the end. It did sort of just end, which is why I didn't rate it a little higher, but the audiobook is 100% the way to go with this one.
