Of Blood and Aether by Harper Hawthorne

It's an interesting fantasy read. I can really see a potential for this one, and hopefully, the sequel would deliver.

The set of characters was interesting enough for me. They had their moments that made them stand out for me, particularly the main characters, which I was really hoping to give more. The burn was rather awkward and not really giving for me.

I think my only problem is that, more or less, nothing really happened here? Like half the book was just talking rather than showing. The plot didn't really progress or like really started until the like the 60-ish %, and the pacing was really slow for my liking, which was saddening because I was really interested in world and the plot but the execution just kind of failed it for me

I would say that the pacing did bore me which made me not compelled to the story despite how interested I was, it wasn't just making me, similarly to what I feel regarding the romance. Still, I was hoping the sequel would deliver more.
