Wow! What a beautiful book!

Going into this story, I had one worry, and one worry alone - “How is Jessie Walker going to write Mason and Jeremy’s story in such a way that makes me believe in their romance while staying true to Mason’s palpable angst over Izzy’s disappearance in the previous books?” Rest assured, dear reader, that I felt that Walker delivered on this exceptionally well. Mason and Jeremy’s story delivered on the angst and adversity I was hoping for, and then some 😩🥺. I loved both characters. I couldn’t help but FEEL for Jeremy. His life story up to this point was so convincing and so realistic. Mason’s life story is not sunshine and butterflies either, and even though he could be a little blind at what was going on in front of him, I couldn’t blame him for some of his actions because I understood them and felt like he was doing the best he knew how.

Mason and Jeremy felt like real people, and not just ink on paper. My only critique is the pacing and length of this story. Because events that happen in this story happen in previous books, it was sometimes hard for me to stay invested in the book simply due to the pacing and number of pages. However, I want to point out that even though I personally struggled with those things, this is still a tragically beautiful story that pulled so many emotions from me.
