This is a book I'd usually not choose to read based on it's description, but I found myself in the library thinking 'challenge yourself' and arguing, to myself, that I should try something new. And the book - not at all what I expected!
Knut is a guy who like running, and we meet him after a successful three hour run in the woods. His knees are still good (which, on a side note, is quite impressive for anyone above 30) he thinks to himself as he starts heading back home. But it's not a smooth ride and before he knows it he's bit by some animal and bleeding all over. He doesn't want to sit for hours at the ER waiting room, so he just heads home and hope for the best. Then, it's everyday life onwards, except that he gets the weirdest symptoms from the bite, and in-between an interesting marriage, a laid-back job, a party, an evening as neighborhood watch, a therapy session, a medical appointment and the realisation that you don't really need a voice because people prefer talking about themselves, something is changing him. From the outside and in. And through 87 pages we follow him as he day by day gets closer to his final trip back to the woods.
