ALL HAIL THE BLOOD QUEEN!!!!

This book was so freaking emotional and good. The back and forth between Huntyr and Wolf will haunt me for the rest of my days. I LITERALLY JUST WANTED TO SHAKE THEM A MILLION TIMES AND MAKE THEM KISS UGHHHH. I say that lovingly. The longing, the yearning, the angst, the will they or won’t they actually took years off of my life. Emily is going to be hearing from my lawyer. But wow, Wolf. What a GOD DAMN MANNNNN. He was so in love with Huntyr. Everything he did for her, everything he sacrificed for her. And without ever asking for anything but her to live and to be happy. Please, lord, if I have to become a vampire Queen to find a man like that, I’m ready.

This was a plot heavy story for sure, even if I was losing my mind over the slow burn for most of the time haha, but the author did a really good job of keeping me invested in all of the characters, without overwhelming me with world building. We learn more of the secrets of the Golden City, its darkness and the lies that most have been fed. And as we unpack what these secrets mean for Huntyr, she’s learning to wield that immense power within. I loved seeing her become a lethal force, but still hold on to the softness that makes her lovable.

And shoutout to the hilarious Jessiah for being the BFF (and brother) we all needed. here’s to hoping he gets his own loving hehehe🥰

This duet was seriously SO GOOD!
