Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts

3.5

Out if all the Noras I've read, this one felt the most dated. The slang was a bit cringy but it reflects the times so can't hold that against it.

The one thing that drove me batty was how the narrator pronounced mob and demob (when used as short form for mobilization and demobilization). Instead of how it is meant to be pronounced - "moh-b" and "dee-moh-b" - the narrator pronounced it "mah-b" and "dee-mah-b". Every time I heard it, I got shivers.
