After the death of his family when he was a baby, Nobody Owens is taken in by the ghosts of the graveyard. The man who killed Bod's family, Jack, continues to hunt him as he grows into a young man. The ghosts band together to protect Bod from Jack, with the help of a mysterious being named Silas.

I listened to this on audio, which was narrated by Neil Gaiman. This was a cute, very quick read, and I liked the illustrations. I think the story started off very strong, with Jack and the knife... but then it lost steam for me by the end. I loved following Bod on his adventures, and being raised by these ghosts. Bod is such a sweet little guy, and I wanted to protect him at all costs. The ghosts were all so unique and brought their own lessons based on the time periods they lived in. My biggest complaint is that I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT SILAS. He was so mysterious, and I understand that is the point... but I want to know more of his backstory.
