Doctor Who: Rose by Russell T. Davies
4.0
This is much better than the Target novelisations that used to come out when I was a kid! It fleshes out the characters, world and situations in a way that tries very hard to add to the story - Clive’s research and backstory springs to mind - but it does occasionally feel like padding to stretch out the length of the book. I don’t mind - Davies is a great writer - but there are patches that feel like they belong in a book that can afford such leisurely strolls, rather than in a novel based on a 45-minute piece of television.
