Characters: Hannah Gallagher and Chase Donner

This is not a standalone series, so you really need to read these in order.
In a previous novel Chase had met Hannah, so when Chase’s old roommate moves out of the home they are renting, he needs a new roommate. Hannah comes to him and tells him that she’s interested in renting out a room. He agrees, but then the owner of the house decides to sell the house. Chase was left money from his father that he didn’t want to use, so in order to have his dream woman live with him, he puts down his pride and decides to buy the house. Hannah moves in and things go from there.
I love how Chase kept calling Hannah “Cinnamon”, because he loved her freckles and they reminded him of cinnamon.
Also I thought it was sweet that he decided to take her last name, because he didn’t want the constant reminder of how his family were known for being troublemakers. He went to jail, did his time and became a better person, so I can understand not wanting to be associated with your family members who did bad things.
The things that made me enjoy the book less:
- This book seemed too easy, they are both attracted to each other and they hook up and express their feelings too quickly for my taste. There wasn’t enough angst or conflict in here.
- The only real conflict in this book was, both Hannah and Chase were dealing with a cop on a power trip, who was jealous and envious of Hannah dating a former convict. So the cop (Dan) would do things to try and intimidate Chase, but once the character stopped being a dick and apologized, I felt like something else would transpire but it never did. It felt too easy that the guy stopped, because he got reprimanded by his superior.
- I felt like the other characters in here overshadowed the main love interest.
