This book had me gripped from the beginning. The main character is in his late 40s looking back at something that happened to him when he was seven and so it reads like a fairytale adventure for adults. Gaiman does such a good job of capturing the powerlessness of childhood and the frustration and terror this can cause.
I loved the Hempstocks so much. I want to curl up in their cottage with a bowl of something delicious and feel safe and cozy.
