I loved the ultra-specific Harlem references (I looked up addresses on Google), and I also loved the various songs that were featured in the story (like a playlist as I read along).  The last third dragged a bit as it was clear what was going to / what needed to happen. 

Sometimes insta-love works for me, sometimes it doesn't - it didn't so much in this case.  The magical realism elements were totally unexpected.
