I don't think I was the target demographic for this book. I understand, after having done some research, how many critics view this as a significant contribution to trans voices in publishing, and I can absolutely respect that. However, the writing style was so informal and resembled stream of consciousness, which is not a form I enjoy. I also think the audiobook narrator (the author herself) put me off - maybe if I had tried to read it on my own, I would've had a different experience.
