Freedom Is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement by Angela Y. Davis

challenging informative slow-paced

3.5

There is a lot of great information in this book but I don’t believe it was the right book for me. Mainly for two reasons. The format and organization of the book made it difficult for me to follow in a way that I struggled to engage or pay attention often. I was expecting a book that built on knowledge, but it was more a collection of past writings, speeches, and conversations. The second is that many of the writings in this book felt as if they were for someone who is either very new to abolition or really considering it for the first time. If you are already on board, you might find a lot of the book feels repetitive.
