Brideshead Revisited: 75th Anniversary Edition by Evelyn Waugh

4.0

The blurb for this edition describes Waugh's writing as "elegiac, lyrical," and I don't know of a better description. The entire novel, every character and every scene, is somehow draped in this beautiful melancholy that aches and sighs and weaves deep questions about life, truth, and faith.
